3 Important Points on Organizing Your Workflow for Creating Website Link Pages
By: Stephen Condren

When you are creating Website and working with Web pages the single most important thing that you have to be is organized. You must remember that as a human being we are not organized creatures. When you are working with Websites and pages you are dealing with computers and they are completely organized. To help you get started follow the following three points:

1. After you have transferred all of your images for the digital camera or other source go to My Computer and open the file to the source file you placed the images. Make sure that you have the window set to list ? not thumbnail. Once you have the list take a snapshot of it by hitting the ?Print screen? button (near the top right of the keyboard). Then open Work or any other graphic program and ?Copy paste? it to a new sheet and print it out. You really don?t need to save it since when you are finished you will throw the sheet away.

2. In the folder that you have that contains all your images make another folder call 300. This is in reference to 300 dpi, however, you may decide you want the images to be on 75 dpi. If that is the case then name the new folder 75. The point here is to have two folders. The first folder for the full size images that will be too large to use for your Web page and the second folder that is tucked into the first folder that will contain all the smaller dpi images that can be used on your carpet page or throughout your Website.

3. Before you put any images in the 300 folder look at each image in the first folder using ?Thumbnail? and correct any images that are upside down or on their side. Please use any program that you are familiar with to do this. Once the images are all correct in appearance copy all of them (Edit/Select all) and then copy them to the 300 folder. Once they are in the 300 folder you can then use them and scale them appropriately in your Web authoring program.

I have always enjoyed portraiture and landscape painting. In High School (Naperville Central High School) I took Drafting from Mr. Pierce. I quickly grasped the principles of perspective and drafting and hence made a career with both Fine Art and Architectural Renderings.

In the mid 1970's I joined the US Navy and was stationed on board the USS Midway, CV-41. The Midway was home ported in Yokosuka, Japan (A suburb of Tokyo). While in service I traveled all over Asia including such countries as Korea, China, Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Hong Kong, and Japan. While in Japan I learned Japanese. I speak German and Spanish as well.

I am an omnivorous reader with a love of History and Philosophy. I admire the works of Immanuel Kant, Albert Schweitzer, and Fredrich Nietzsche. In music I admire the wo
